Beginning Fall 2023, elimination of overtime during the regular season.
RATIONALE:
Eliminating overtime in the regular season aligns with the NCAA and was backed strongly by HSSO. Ties are already part of the game of soccer here in Colorado and are a possible outcome of every CHSAA game. Elimination of overtime reduces additional match time in an already packed fall and spring schedule while arriving at an outcome that is already possible with the previous two overtime format. Any regular season contests that are part of a CHSAA sanctioned tournament may use a shootout to advance a team in the bracket.
CHSAA will only utilize overtime during the Postseason Championship Tournament.
All Referees are required to submit Misconduct and Supplemental reports to CHSAA within 24 hours of the match.
REMINDER: When a second caution is issued to a player or coach, and they are then disqualified from the game, the report should include BOTH yellow card cautions AND the red card disqualification.
